Counting Resting Respiration Rates (RR)
Respiration rates (breathing rates) are a critical piece of information you can provide us over the phone. Changes in these rates assist the cardiologist in treating your pet's heart disease.
When you count the rates, it is important your pet is resting quietly or sleeping. When your pet's chest rises and falls, that is one breath. Count that for fifteen (15) seconds and multiply by four (4). This will give you your pet's RR per minute.
